At the end of August, I’ll be joining a bunch of equally crazy Zuora colleagues and cycling the best part of 500km from London to Paris for charity. This is going to be a very challenging ride for a bloke who loves the pub as much as I do and will be, by far, the longest cycling trip I’ve ever done in my life.
I’ll be flying the flag on behalf of our APAC business unit and doing this in support of Lifeline Australia, with a goal to raise as much money as possible.
Lifeline is a national charity that has a vision for an Australia free of suicide. They provide any person in Australia experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They exist to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.
It’s a great cause and I’d ask that you give what you’re able. Better still, Zuora will be matching any donations 1:1 and 100% of donations go directly to Lifeline.
Thanks for your support

The ride itself:
Day 1 will be me - lycra-clad and pumped up on coffee- cycling 138km from Central London out to the coast near Dover. My ego will be taken down a few notches by some fairly large, oppressive hills and I’m expecting to cry a fair bit between the hours of 7am and 7pm as I realise that this is only Day 1…..
Day 2 will start with a casual 124km of cycling to the town of Abbeville. What's in Abbeville? I have no idea. I’m likely to be feeling relatively confident that morning after a good sleep yet expect to see that confidence disappear as I approach the first hill of the day. I'm calling 10.01am for the harsh reality of what's ahead of me to hit home.
Day 3 will include 167km from Abbeville to Central Paris whereby I’m likely to have a single beer and then happily pass out on the street, in front of the Eiffel Tower.
